Alexander Fitzgerald
Alex is a Partner within the firm and head of the Criminal Department, with over 20 years’ experience specialising in all aspects of Criminal Law.
Since starting his career with Edward Hughes in 2001 as a Trainee Solicitor, Alex has extensive experience representing clients in the police station as an Accredited Representative and as a Duty Solicitor in both the police station and Magistrates Court.
Alex’s Criminal Law practice spans advising and defending clients in a wide range of alleged offences, from initial police station interview through to Court including:
- Murder and manslaughter
- Assault and violent crime
- Sexual offences
- Conspiracy
- Drug related offences
- Theft
- Fraud
- Controlling and coercive behaviour / Harassment
- Restraint and confiscation
- Motoring and road traffic offences
Alex, like all colleagues within the Criminal Department, is aware that attending the Police Station or Court can be a difficult and concerning time for clients and their families. Alex prides himself on achieving the best possible result for all clients, whilst supporting and guiding them throughout the process so that it operates smoothly, sensitively and with the minimal stress possible.
In Alex’s spare time, he enjoys watching rugby, football and spending time with his family.
